It would be nice if life were easy. But it’s not. You deal with difficult people, tough issues, circumstances beyond your control and the fact that life keeps coming at you fast. You have several choices how to respond. You can give up and decide you’re a victim. Fight with everything you have and take no prisoners. Or let God’s love toughen you up. While it’s tempting to embrace either of the first two choices – don’t. They lead you away from God, away from your best self and to a result that’s no good for anyone. That leaves choice three, letting God’s love toughen you up. That’s the choice for you. God’s love gives you clarity about your purpose. It builds you up with strength and determination. And it gives you the confidence to deal with the situation head on. This will allow you to keep working through the difficult times, maintain important relationships and find a result that is the best possible course of action for everyone. And that’s not a bad day’s work!

YouthWorker Movement Questions to Consider:
When has life seemed easy to you? When has life seemed hard?
How do you respond to conflict? Embrace? Avoid? Escalate? Pray?
When has God’s love given you clarity?
When have you found a Third Way toward conflict resolution? How was God involved
[You may find it helpful to spend a day on each question and write down your responses. Write whatever comes to mind without judgement. Then take some time to carefully pray through what you have written. And take time to listen because God is talking to you.]
