Numbers matter. They matter to your doctor when it involves your blood pressure, cholesterol and weight. They matter to your spouse when it comes to thermostat setting and it’s 25 degrees outside. They matter to you when you need to know whether you have enough money in the checking account as you write your monthly mortgage check. Yes numbers matter. So that’s why you might want to think about some very important numbers today.
How many times do you say, “Lord, I need to talk to you about something.”? How often do you say, “Thank you!” to someone for something they’ve done? How often do you smile at a stranger? How often do you actually experience God’s love as you go through a normal day? The answers you come up with to these questions will tell you a whole lot about the quality of your life. And they also may just tell you what you need to do next.
